Two Words that Horrify

Two words that horrify you and kick our fight or flight response into high gear tense the body preparing for one of the two reactions we should take. You ask yourself. “Do I fight or do I take flight? As the object causing our horrified reaction approaches, you wonder, ‘Have they seen me? Is it too late to run? Do I dare stand here and prepare to fight off that which I dread?’ Realizing you have been seen by the approaching object of horror, you stand your ground with your mind racing for the right words that will save you from their persuasive onslaught.

Now, they are standing right in front of you; those dreaded people. The brain says, “OMG! They’re coming right toward me! How can I escape before they see me? OH, no! Too late. They see me! Beware, they’re going to try to sell you something. How can I politely say no? They’re my neighbor, my friend. But now, they are a network marketer!” The mind starts preparing a ‘no’ response to whatever they are going to ask you to buy. And it doesn’t matter what their product is, you know in advance you don’t want to buy it. You can’t allow yourself to buy it. If you do, you have set yourself up. They will be knocking on your door for the rest of eternity wanting you to buy everything they present to you. I

The network marketer tells you all about the new company they found and the fantastic new products they make. They have been using it themselves and it has worked wonders. They think you really should give it a try, and if you like it they will sell it to you. So, you successfully decline their offer.

A few days later another person you know says to you, “I just went to the newest club in town. I had the most amazing time. The place was fantastic, the service was top-shelf, and the ambiance was like a giant party. You have to try it. I know you are going to love it as much as I did. The place was so great, I bought a club membership. Seriously, you should give it a try.”

What is the difference?

Both of these scenarios are network marketing! We gladly accept the network marketing offer from the nightclub neighbor even though they are in essence selling you the idea of going to the new establishment and spending your money on something they think is a great product.

The answer to ‘what’s the difference’ is the neighbor, friend, or family member does not receive income for suggesting your patronizing the establishment. In reality, anyone who is not in the business of network marketing does not receive an income for whatever they suggest you try, be it businesses, books, movies, concerts, or any of the other million pay-money-for-it choices available to us.

In the networking world, there are a gazillion choices from which one can choose. How does a person know which one is the right choice? I would look for an online internet business that meets certain criteria.

  • is a community of like-minded people
  • is committed to helping you build your businesses
  • offers free and ongoing training and support
  • keeps up with the ever-changing internet world
  • incorporates that new tech information to all the members
  • represents multiple high-quality businesses
  • incorporates multiple streams of income
  • uses multiple avenues to promote your business
  • that offers other contacts other than family and friends.

Having all of these resources available to you as an internet marketer, and a willingness to learn and put in as much available time as you have, your online internet marketing business will succeed. As your business grows, you can pay off credit card debt, vacation in dream locations, fix up the house, and buy special occasion gifts you couldn’t afford before. When more money rolls in every week than you were making in a month, you realize you can stop the 9-5 grind and be your boss.
